Happy Birthday Talon

Happy 6th birthday to Talon a couple weeks ago! Because his birthday is a few days before Halloween I tricked.....er.....I mean Talon didn't want a birthday party. He opted for a trip to Build-A-Bear to get a Star Wars Bear. He wanted Adam to make him a mummy birthday cake this year.

We just love this little boy more than words. He is always and forever my baby boy no matter how many birthdays he has!

Okay lets try this again...

Let me just start by saying that I am probably not going to be up for mother of the year.  Talon got glasses last year and REFUSED to wear them.  After a month of trying to make him wear them I finally folded.  I know, I know I suck!  We went to the eye doctor again and SURPRISE...he still can't see!  We got a new prescription and so far so good.  He wears them all the time now.  He informed me that he is a scientist now!  I think he looks so sweet.

Talon LOVES to SHARE

Talon LOVES to share. Yesterday at the store we decided we were going to share some Starburst.  He informed me that he DOES NOT eat "GIRL" colors (pink, red, yellow).  I totally scored with that treat!  Seriously, who likes the ORANGE ones anyway?

If you know me you know I LOVE "treats"!  Talon inherited my sweet tooth and it shows, 6 cavities later.  Talon says, "Lets go to the ASS (gas) station and get a treat".  I know, I know I should help him say it right, but it just makes us chuckle.

Happy Birthday Talon!

My baby (not for much longer) turned 4 years old this week.  For his birthday we took him to RideMakerz.  RideMakerz is like Build-A-Bear, but you build your own remote control car.  A little boys dream!  Adam made a car cake this year.  

Another end to soccer season

Talon just had his last soccer game.  He loved that he could finally play like his dad and big brother. He scored 4 goals at his last game, but was most excited that he got a "medal".  I am glad he can put ALL that aggression towards something positive.

Scar Face!

Talon's face is a wreck these days!  The day before school pictures he fell on the sidewalk.  Then a few days later he crashed on his bike!  My crazy BOYS!

Chubby

The other day I was holding Talon.  He asked me if I would carry him downstairs.  I said, "Sorry buddy I can't I am too chubby."  He said, "That is alright mommy I LOVE chubby girls!"

Park

The park days are numbered.  It was such a beautiful day today we had to take advantage of the few park days we have left.

No Training Wheels

Talon learned to ride his bike with no training wheels this week.  I have to admit he could still use those "Anger-Management Classes".  Every time he crashed he would start cursing the bike, then me, then Santa Clause for bringing him the bike.  Like a good supportive mother I am, I was laughing my ears off the entire time, which made Talon even more mad.  He did it though, good job buddy!

Turtle Cove

We met some friends at the new water park, Turtle Cove, by our house.  Gage was a little bummed out that he couldn't go down the big water slides because he wasn't 48 inches.  The boy has no FEAR.  The boys had a blast!

First Day of School

Today Talon started school.  He was so excited to start.  He didn't even want me to walk him into the school.  Gage was excited too.  Gage doesn't start school until next week.  We were walking out to the car and he grabbed my hand and said 2 hours and 45 minutes without Talon what should we do my honey!

Splash Park

We went to the Splash Park with some friends today. The boys had a blast!

My baby is on "ROIDS"

Adam took the boys camping a couple weekends ago. Gage and Talon both got poison ivy in the worst way. Talon's was not clearing up, so I finally took him to the doctor. The doctor decided to put him on steroids. The doctor warned me that he might be aggressive and grouchy! Talon is already going through something right now, so I chuckled to myself. So now every time Talon is a stinker Adam and I say, "ITS THE ROIDS". I don't know what we will blame when he is finished with the medication. Maybe we can find an anger management program for 3 years olds.

Soccer, Soccer, Soccer

Apparently, we can not get enough soccer in our house. Between Adam, Gage and Talon, 5 out of 7 days we are playing soccer. This is Talon's first year and he loved it! I almost feel pressured to trade in my SUV for a Minivan and get a "Soccer Mom" bumper sticker! Okay that may be pushing it.

I LOVE my big brother

Talon loves his big brother. He wants to do everything Gage does and asks several times a day when is Gage going to be home. The other day we walked Gage to his class room. We were walking away and Talon said I love Gage so much! I love it!

Bikes

As a child one of my fondest memories is of myself, my little sister and my best friend Gayle riding bikes. We would ride our pink Huffy's with the banana seats for hours. I grew up out in the country and we would ride for miles on the country roads. It is so much fun to watch the boys ride their bikes and see how much joy something as simple as a bike ride brings them.

My Buddy

My boys are the funnest boys (my alternative wording for wild and out of control). Seriously though they might be wild but there is never a dull moment at our house. They are such good boys and the best of friends. I never imagined having two boys would be such a blast!

Brrrrr

I have been a blog slacker lately. We have been super busy. We had a great Thanksgiving with Rob and Adrienne and of course Black Friday rocked. I got up at 4:30am to hit the mall with 5 million other people. Winter is in full effect in Michigan, 0 degree wind chill and all. Time to hibernate.
